Open Spacious High Ceiling Wood Cabin

Open Spacious High Ceiling Wood Cabin

There are so many beautiful details in the Moonridge Drive Cabin located in Whitefish, Montana. From the reclaimed wood and corrugated metal exterior to the wood beams throughout, this is a true gem of a cottage. This retreat in the forest was designed by Mindful Designs a company designing homes in Montana. The cottage fits perfectly into its forest surrounding with the use of natural materials like reclaimed wood, corrugated metal and cedar shingles. Inside there is a lot more to love about this design too. This small cottage design goes to show that for what it may lack in space it makes up for in design details.

This cabin can actually be rented out through Home Away for about $171 US per night. While staying at the cottage, there are so many activities that can be done right in the backyard of the cabin. The Beaver Lake area is close to Whitefish, yet it's also very secluded and private too with lots of nature to enjoy. Murray Lake is the closest lake to the house, and it's only 1 mile away. While staying at the cottage people love to go fishing, swimming or even hiking around the area on the Whitefish Trails. There are 26 miles of trails to explore on over 13,000 acres of forested land.

The cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms so it can comfortably sleep up to 6 people. In the first bedroom which is connected to the second bedroom, there is a queen bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds and a full bathroom. The other bedroom would be the master suite with a full bed and a private full bathroom. There is also an 18-foot tipi that can sleep as many people as can fit. There are lots of blankets that can be used as well. The kitchen area is open to living and dining room which makes for the perfect flow to enjoy each other's company. There is also a half bath and a laundry room off of the kitchen which would come in handy for longer stays. The closet space in the cottage is also wonderful, and there is plenty of storage to store clothes and other items. This is a great cottage that would be a pleasure to visit and could bring so much inspiration to those planning their own cottage dreams.

If you are planning on building a cabin of your own, it's a good idea to buy a kit so that you can do some of the work yourself. You can find prefabricated kits that are very easy to build on your own depending on the size of the cabin you choose. Many of the smaller cottages can be built within weeks of delivery which means you'd get to use your cabin sooner. The other option is to buy a cottage on the market and then add your own personal touches to it and personalize it yourself. Or, if you'd rather travel a lot, it works to stay in vacation cottages like this one instead of having your own cabin.
