RESTORATION OF AN 1850S VINEYARD RESIDENCE

These days, there are a lot of structures you can find all over the world that were built long time ago. These structures can be commercial or residential properties. There are even churches who are still standing straight today despite their long existence in this world. As a matter of fact, many of these old structures are considered to be history treasures, making them to be perfect attractions for tourists coming from the four corners of the world. However, the big question now is, is it possible to make those structures appropriate for modern day living, especially those residential properties? The answer is a big YES! It is through restoration or renovation. One good example for this is the renovation of an 1850's Vineyard Residence.

This particular vineyard residence was built way back in the 1850's, with stone and timber materials. It is a two-storey residential property. It is perfectly located in Vetroz, Southern Switzerland. Originally, it was owned by a winemaker family. But today, it is assumed by a certain family who decided to renovate this house for more efficiency in modern day living. With the help of Savioz Fabrizzi Architectes, this house was renovated into a two-bedroom home. Its roof was replaced with a more durable roofing material, and its rubble stone base was restored. On the top floor, the living areas are made to be more vibrant during daytime by converting the smaller original windows into something wider so that enough daylight will come in. Talking about its interior materials, the wood portions are constructed from timber and cement finish for stone portions. If you feel like taking a bath, then take advantage of its bathroom that is located on the first floor along with the bedrooms.
