This contemporary Sonoma Guest Cottage tiny house design is simplicity at its best. The interior of this tiny house is just as beautiful as the exterior with so many things to love about the design. The small guest home in Sonoma, California was designed by Rohleder Borgest Architecture. Outside of this tiny home, there is a covered patio which would be the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the scenic surroundings and beautifully landscaped property. What makes both the exterior and the interior of this tiny house design special is the use of colour throughout. On the exterior of the tiny cabin, designs are red combined with wood, concrete, and a gray roof. Inside this tiny house are white walls, concrete floors, and soft yellow kitchen cabinets which set them apart from the other items in the home.
With accents of wood, lots of windows to let in the natural light, the colour combinations of both the furniture and the tiny home details compliment each other perfectly. The bright yellow works so well because pretty much everything else in the home is a neutral tone. Too much colour or pattern in a tiny house can overpower the space and often makes the space look and feel cluttered. So if you want to introduce colour into a small space, it helps to work with mainly neutral tones or more subdued colours and then bring in pops of intense colour here and there so as not to overwhelm the space. One of the most interesting features of this small house design is the ceiling pop up with the windows and ceiling fan in it. This is a great way to maximize ceiling height without having to make the entire ceiling vaulted. It adds height in the living room which makes the room feel larger, plus it also adds to the architectural interest of the home on the exterior as well.
