The Orchid Is A Tiny House With Lighting Inspired by The Solar Eclipse!

The solar-powered Orchid has a lofted king-sized bedroom and an extra hideaway bed that make this home the ideal as an off-grid dwelling. The tiny house floor plan has a central kitchenette that gives this space a unique look. It is a contemporary version of a gable farmhouse home design. The exterior on this tiny modern house on wheels is complimentary wooden siding that gives it a Scandinavian look and feel. If you take a closer look, you will see that the wooden cedar siding is spaced and raised off of the exterior walls and roof to give each piece of siding the appearance of floating. The siding boards carry over onto the roof in a seamless line, giving an original, timeless wooden exterior.

This tiny house design was inspired by the full solar eclipse of 2017, in the form of its valance lighting. To execute the eclipse effect, the LED strip lighting is hidden behind the trim throughout the entire home. So you see the light pouring over a wall, which creates shape and mood, with the actual light never directly being visible. The valance lights run along many of the asymmetrical lines of the tiny house and are focused on the central wall within the central kitchenette. The lights are partitioned onto individual separate dimmer switches, so you can easily create different settings within each part the tiny home design.

The interior siding in the Orchid is all maple plywood and combines a modern look with a warm, natural feel. The master king-size bed is located in the loft, and another full-size bed is on the ground floor, behind the sofa. This sofa-bed combo is custom designed out of solid walnut and rolls seamlessly easily. The kitchen guardrail and the HVAC closet box are also made from walnut wood to match the sofa-bed on the main floor. The bathroom in the Orchid is covered in custom tile and has a floating mirror with valance LED lighting. There is a custom floating vanity sink, a Cinderella incinerator toilet, and a full-size shower that make the bathroom feel both functional and luxurious.
